About Andy Frankel

Andy  is a results-driven leader with 20+ years in the electronic payments space. Prior to his entrance into the credit card processing arena, Andy spent the first four years of his professional life in the United States Air Force. Andy was stationed in Las Vegas, NV where he worked as an electrician on F-16 fighter jets.

After his military career in the Air Force, Andy began working in the electronic payments space and ultimately became a key member of a company that was acquired by a large processor in 2003. It was shortly after that sale that Andy was named President. Under his leadership, the company thrived growing top line revenue and EBITDA for 4 consecutive years.

In 2007, Andy resigned and went on to open APEX Merchant Group in 2008, where he grew the company from 10 total employees to over 70 corporate employees and over 100 outside sales consultants. The team was thriving; with great year over year sales, back office and financial metrics which helped position the company to be acquired. With over $50 million of annual revenue, APEX Merchant Group was acquired in 2015, Andy again was named President. Andy committed both time and his personal finances to the new entity and over the next few years became the 4th largest share holder. In the 6 years that followed the company posted very healthy growth numbers across most segments of the business which added tremendous share holder value which again positioned the company to be sold. After a few strategic acquisitions and mergers, the new entity was subsequently acquired by a publicly traded payments company for $960 million in June 2021.

All told, Andy has more than 20 years of electronic transaction processing experience leading as many as 250 employees in companies with revenues in excess of $350 million. He has led companies through start-up, survival, turnaround and growth modes. And with over 15 years as President in the financial services industry, Andy’s understanding of sales and operations is a rare find in the payments space and has been a driving force in his success.

Andy resides in Frisco with his wife Carrie, his son Blake and Carrie’s 2 boys. In his spare time, Andy enjoys playing golf at his home course, Dallas National Golf Club, where he has been a member since 2013 and is a 2 time Member/Member Matchplay Champion. Although he has played courses all over the world, the legendary Pine Valley Golf Club in New Jersey and Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach California are a few of his favorites.
